Toys are a great category to sell and a hard category to ship. SKUs multiply fast. Demand swings hard around the holidays. Boxes come in odd shapes. Returns spike after Christmas.

Here’s how toys fulfillment actually works when you outsource it, and what to look for in a 3PL that can handle the category.

What toys fulfillment includes

Toys fulfillment is the full path from your manufacturer to the kid who unboxes it. That covers receiving inbound containers, putting away inventory, picking and packing each order, shipping it, and handling returns.

For toy brands that sell on multiple channels — DTC, Amazon, Walmart, wholesale to a retailer — a 3PL ties it together so you’re not running parallel inventory pools.

How we handle seasonal peaks

Toy volume is back-loaded. Most of the year is steady. Then October through December, orders can 4x or 5x and you need that throughput on day one of the surge.

We plan capacity for your peak ahead of time. That means more pickers, more pack stations, and pre-staged carrier pickups. Same-day ship by 2pm holds through the season — the cutoff doesn’t move because volume went up.

Kitting, gift sets, and bundles

A lot of toy SKUs ship as bundles — starter sets, holiday gift packs, multi-piece accessories. We assemble those in-house instead of having you pay your factory to pre-bundle everything.

That lets you build kits on demand, swap components seasonally, and avoid sitting on bundled inventory that won’t sell.

Packing, fragile, and oversized

Toys span small blind-box items, plush, electronics, ride-ons, and oversized outdoor play. Each needs different packing. Our pack stations are set up for fragile inserts, void fill, custom mailers, and oversized cartoning.

For larger ride-ons or outdoor toys, see our oversized shipping rates.

Returns after the holidays

January is return season. We inspect, restock sellable items, refurbish where it’s worth it, and dispose of anything damaged. Your inventory dashboard updates in real time so you know what’s actually back on the shelf.

Inventory visibility you can trust

Toy brands lose money when they oversell a hot SKU during Q4. Our portal shows on-hand and in-transit counts in real time, with 99.9% accuracy across the network. The numbers you see are the numbers we have.

Is 3PL Center a fit for your toy brand

We work best with toy brands shipping a few hundred to tens of thousands of orders a month across DTC, Amazon, and wholesale. If that’s you, get a quote with your real SKU count and peak volume — we’ll come back with actual numbers.
