Mixed-SKU orders are picked from a 30 x 36 x 24 inch pick rack at $7.50 a month per position. That rack is the one place we combine SKUs in a single position. Shipping pallets are always single SKU, which is also what most retail routing guides require when a wholesale order is going into a retail DC.

We bill storage on the height a pallet is actually built to, not a tier you commit to in advance. A 40 x 48 pallet built to 60 inches is $18.50 a month, one built to 72 inches is $25.00, and anything over 72 inches is $40.00. The pallet deck itself uses about 5.5 inches of that allowance, because height is measured floor to top of load. Wholesale inventory tends to sit longer than direct-to-consumer stock, so on a B2B program that tier difference compounds: rebuilding forty pallets from 64 inches to 59 inches is $260 a month, or $3,120 a year, on the same goods.

Each pallet position is rated to 2,500 lbs. For dense wholesale product, liquids, glass, printed matter, and hardware, that ceiling arrives well before the height one does, and building taller saves you nothing once the position is at weight. The practical test is to work out what a full-height pallet of your product weighs. Under 2,500 lbs and height is your constraint, so the tier breaks are worth designing around. At or over it, weight is your constraint and you should build to weight instead.
