Retail fulfillment where your containers already land

Most retail programs that run through California start on the water, and from the moment a container lands at LA or Long Beach every day of dwell and every unnecessary mile comes out of the ship window your buyer gave you. Our eight California warehouses sit close to both ports, so goods are received and prepped near the point of discharge rather than after a cross-country move. From there the same inventory reaches most of the country in two days, and West Coast retail DCs in far less.

Import prep is a sequence, and a carton that arrived to a factory spec is rarely the carton your buyer’s routing guide asks for. See our retail fulfillment overview, our drayage and cross-docking services, or New Jersey retail fulfillment if your buyers are in the Northeast.

California Retail Fulfillment Capabilities

Drayage from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, then received into stock within 24 to 48 hours and counted into the WMS.

Factory cartons inspected and re-sorted to the case pack your buyer actually published, which is usually cheaper here than guessing at it a season in advance overseas.

Retailer-specific prep: UCC-128 carton labels, UPC codes, price tickets, and hang tags.

Pallets built on 48 x 40 inch GMA standard, one SKU per shipping pallet, on positions rated to 2,500 lbs.

EDI and API connections to major retailers including Saks, Nordstrom, Target, and Best Buy.

ASN and shipment data sent by EDI, so the receiving DC can check the load against what you declared.

LTL and FTL tendered per the routing guide and scheduled against the delivery appointment.

Split-coast inventory if it earns its keep: store in California, New Jersey, or both, on one account.

Orders released by 2pm ship the same day, with nationwide two-day ground reach.

California Retail Fulfillment FAQs

Yes. We dray from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, then receive into stock within 24 to 48 hours, counted into the WMS so allocated stock reflects real stock.

Yes, and it is a normal part of import prep. A factory packs to its own convenience months before a purchase order exists, so re-sorting on arrival is usually cheaper and more accurate than asking the factory to guess at a retailer’s case pack a season in advance.

Not necessarily. Keeping everything in California is the simpler operation and the cheaper receiving, and it is the right answer when your retail volume is West Coast weighted or your SKU count is high relative to unit volume. Splitting costs you a duplicated buffer per SKU and buys back transit time and freight cost on the eastern half of the country. Bearaby stores and ships from both coasts with us and runs retail and direct-to-consumer from the same account, so both patterns are real here.

48 x 40 inch GMA standard. It is the only pallet size we ship on, and it is the size most retail routing guides expect. One SKU per shipping pallet, on rack positions rated to 2,500 lbs.

Yes. We bill on the height a pallet is actually built to: $18.50 a month at 60 inches, $25.00 at 72 inches, $40.00 over 72 inches on a 40 x 48 footprint, with about 5.5 inches of that going to the pallet deck. On imported inventory it is worth settling before the container is packed, because how the factory stacks decides the tier from the moment the goods are received.

On imported product the preventable ones cluster at receiving: cartons that arrived to a factory spec and were never re-sorted to the buyer’s case pack, labels applied to the wrong unit, a pallet built past the guide’s height, and an ASN that does not match what physically shipped. Those are ours to catch, and catching them at the port is far cheaper than catching them at the retailer’s dock. The deduction decision still belongs to the retailer, and some deductions are about the purchase order or the ship window rather than anything a warehouse touched, so we will not promise a zero we cannot enforce.

We connect by EDI or API to major retailers including Saks, Nordstrom, Target, and Best Buy, and we work to whichever routing guide your buyer publishes.

We have eight California locations, close to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Orders released by 2pm ship the same day.

Yes. One inventory pool serves retail, wholesale, and DTC, so you are not carrying separate safety stock per channel.
